In November 2023 I went on a photographic tour to Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. Its National Wildlife Refuge protects and enhances habit for plants and animals along ten miles of the Rio Grande in central New Mexico. Nothing at Bosque del Apache compares to the thundering sound of wings beats and calls as thousands of geese lift en masse and fly directly over the photgraphers heads, followed by the sandhill cranes.
