Puffins

Skomer Island

We visited the red kite feeding station in Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales for three days in a row. It opened in 2002, this was supported by a local partnership with the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Welsh Red Kite Trust and various other well-known wildlife organisations and individuals. The visitors sit or stand in specially built "hiding places" just a few meters away from the meadow where the birds are fed by the owner at the same time every day. As soon as the meat is thrown out, the battle for a piece between kites, magpies, crows and the buzzard begins.
